New Partnership with Tech University

# Announcing Our New Partnership with Tech University
We're excited to share news of a groundbreaking partnership between MakerHub and Tech University that will create new opportunities for makers, students, and educators in our community!
The Partnership
Starting next month, MakerHub and Tech University's Engineering Department will collaborate on a series of initiatives designed to expand access to maker education, foster innovation, and create pathways between academic and community-based learning.
Key Initiatives
Student Membership Program
Tech University students will now have access to discounted MakerHub memberships, providing them with resources beyond what's available on campus. This program includes:
- Reduced membership rates for current students
- Access to specialized equipment and workshops
- Opportunities to connect with the broader maker community
Collaborative Courses
We'll be co-developing and hosting a series of courses that blend academic theory with hands-on application:
- Introduction to Digital Fabrication
- Sustainable Design and Making
- Electronics and Physical Computing
- Entrepreneurship for Makers
These courses will be open to both university students and community members, creating a rich, diverse learning environment.
Community Impact
This partnership represents a significant step in breaking down barriers between academic institutions and community spaces. By combining resources and expertise, we aim to create more inclusive pathways into STEM fields and support innovation that addresses real community needs.
What's Next
We'll be hosting an open house on April 5th to introduce the partnership and showcase planned initiatives. Representatives from both MakerHub and Tech University will be available to answer questions and discuss opportunities for involvement.
Stay tuned for more details about specific programs, courses, and events that will be rolling out over the coming months!
